January 1stWith 14 years in business and counting, we’re continuing to grow and refine our team, ensuring that quality shines through in EVERYTHING we do! We’re excited to see how our company grows as we deliver our services to more homeowners in the upcoming years.

July 22ndOur shop could only hold so many of us as the team grew. After many renovations, we found a new home downtown at 345 Main St, Danbury, CT for our client care reps & marketing team to operate from! Our service & installation technicians continue to operate from our Pembroke Shop location.

February 16thOur man in the star logo was feeling a bit dated for the modern times & what the company had become. Over a decade, what started as a tiny family business has grown into a skilled team of individuals who make the Service Stars experience an amazing one inside & out.
Thanks to the talented team at KickCharge Creative, new life was breathed into the look & feel of Service Stars!
2020
March 23rdThe global pandemic disrupted peoples’ lives & businesses on an unprecedented scale. Our business was no exception to this uneasy period. With the mandatory lockdown in Connecticut, social distancing, and other enforced procedures to prevent the spread of the virus, we had to adapt tremendously to keep the business going.
2018
October 15thIt wasn’t an easy decision to suspend our plumbing services in 2015; it felt like taking a step backward.
However, in 2018 we found an excellent opportunity to add an experienced plumber to our staff. With this addition, we were able to offer plumbing services again, revamping our Club Membership to accommodate a whole-home service plan.
2015
April 6thAs a company, we struggled to find a solution to our plumbing needs. We had more plumbing demands coming in, but we failed to find a reliable plumber.
In 2015, we decided to notify all current customers that we suspended all plumbing work until we found a plumber that could deliver the same level of service as our other departments.
2013
April 1stUntil this time, Service Stars was operating out of the family’s home basement/garage. We moved into our current location at 48 Pembroke Rd, Danbury, CT in the spring of 2013. It was a big step for us but was necessary to continue to grow. To this day, it is the current center of operations for our technicians!
2010
October 5thThe idea for a complete home service company was hatched. It was at this point that we consolidated our business under one roof: Service Stars.
Thus began the era of the man with a wrench in the star & a fleet of bright blue trucks.
2006
June 1stJeremy decided to branch out of the new construction side of the family-run business and founded a residential electrical service company called Power Up Electric!
As the company grew, Darryl joined the Power Up team to help out the family business.
1980
April 3rdWhere it all started. Not Service Stars exactly, but rather the influence of the trades on the Johnson brothers.
Their parents, Marty & Janet Johnson, ran the family business. With all the brothers graduating from Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury, CT, they all went into the trades to kick off their careers.
We understand that life moves fast and has its ups & downs.
We do not want to rid life of its challenges, but we should seek enjoyment in most of our days. Therefore, we will constantly pursue a future that allows each one of us to experience joy in what we do. We believe that loving what you do is a right, not a privilege. We will always work to inspire people to do things that inspire them.
We always go the extra mile for customers, co-workers, and the company.
We strive to always over-deliver and exceed people’s expectations at everything we do, and we do so with enthusiasm. We understand that going the extra mile for people results in word of mouth, which is the driving force behind real growth. We strive to WOW people with our outstanding customer service. This belief is not just something we say, it’s something we do, and our daily actions reflect this.
We understand that there is no other way to lead than from the front.
We cannot lead if we are not willing to do. We cannot teach or expect anyone to follow our lead if we haven’t done the work ourselves and set the standard for doing it.

We don’t take credit for our individual successes but instead give credit to the people who make our personal successes possible. We always give credit to others for a job well done, and we accept full responsibility when things go poorly.

We understand that the details matter. This understanding drives us to stay focused on the company and its progress, from the big picture down to the finite details of every task we take on.
As a result, we are strong enough to hold ourselves accountable, and we can be relied on to consistently get the job done above the expectations set for us.

When we identify an issue or are given a task, we own that issue or task and see it thru to its completion. We don’t shift blame. Nothing we are aware of is ever someone else’s fault; we always take it fully upon ourselves to make it right.
We do not wait to be told to do something.
When we see something that needs to be done, we do it. We always take the initiative to get tasks done without being asked. We are self-driven and look to constantly push ourselves forward and do what needs to be done to succeed.
We don’t sit and wait for someone to tell us the next step to take; we anticipate the path and contribute accordingly without needing to be carried.
We are always learning and striving to better the company and ourselves.
We believe in taking time to learn things on our own to better ourselves personally and improve our performance. We know that learning is essential to growing and that our personal growth and performance directly impact the company’s growth and performance.
